Nevis government helps increase police presence

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis -- The NIA (NevisIslandAdministration) has issued a statement assuring the residents at more police oficers will be present on the island. There is a high demand of police protection. The reson for the lack of police in Nevis has been largely due to the fact that there is a lack of barracks. Without housing, the government can't afford to employ officers. Currently, the Premier of Nevis, Joseph Parry has confirmed that the Butlers Police Barracks are being built as of now and the new sleeping quarters will ensure comfort and space with a mountain and sea view.
Premier Parry and Prime Minister Denzil Douglas have joined forces in the development of the new police barracks at Belle Vue. The Taiwanese government donated $800,000 for the barrack project due to its agreement with the NIA to assist with crime prevention in Nevis.
Other barrack(s) to be built:
Five Turnings (police station in the Village of Cotton Ground)
The interjection by the Taiwaese government took place after Rong-Chan Wu, a former police officer and current Ambassador of Taiwan (Nevis division) recognized a need for police protection fromconstant crime on the island in addition to the condition of the police stations.

Skerrit Steals the Election in Dominica
La Plaine, Dominica - We've all witnessed an unfair political victory take place. In November of 2000, Republican US President George W.Bush unfairly conceded his victory against Democratic candidate and former Vice President Al.Gore. The country went into shock and proclaimed the elections to have been tampered with. Floridians, who were placed at fault, lost all hope in the electoral system as the
y questioned the manner in which the votes were tallied with a recount. In November of 2008, Black Americans witnessed history takeplace as a Black American won the Presidentialelection, but even that election didn'ttakeplace without sabotage on the behalf of Republicans. Voters were turned away and deceived at the voting booths, leaving a question to be asked: "Is there such a thing as dirty politics?"
On December 18th, politics were in order as the elections took place. The Dominica Labour Party ran away with a clear cut victory and proved that politics are indeed,up for purchase. These elections would prove to be a historic event, not for anything positive, but for being the most unjust election the country has seen in centuries.
Roosevelt Skerrit, a former candidate and winner of the elections has created an uprising in Dominica. He currently has close relations with foreign sponsors who apparently have helped him "purchase" his seat in government. Skerrit has been accused of monopolizing the media in Dominica and pinpointing on Dominicans who aren't well versed on the current political events --- taking advantage of their naivité and loyalty to Labour.
"Paid Politics" can end in distrust, disrespect, and disloyalty by the people. What good is a leader, if he has no followers? With many people out to ruin his run, the Organization of the American States has issued a statement claiming that this year's elections were fair. Many have failed at trying to eliminate Skerrit on the basis of his dual citizenship --- citing that it violates electoral law. However, Skerrit pulled away with what some Dominicans are calling a steal.
Airwaves across the Caribbean have been playing "In de Pocket" which outlines the political strife Dominicans are facing. Here's a sample of the lyrics:
"Skerrit name on it...looking for dem pocket,
Because they can't stop until their pockets full
and our pocket empty."
Currently, the opposing party is heading a boycott against the Prime Minister on the grounds of fraud. When will people ever be able to have complete sense of trust in the government which is set to protect them and take their opinions into consideration?
Montserrat does not sign OECS economic union treaty
Montserrat -- The OECS (Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States) Economic Union Treaty is a follow up to the Treaty of Basterre signed in 1981 and as is also referred to as the New Treaty [of Basterre]. Due to an incomplete internal approvalprocess, Montserrat will not be able to participate in the historic signing of the OECS Economic Union Treaty. The signing is set to take place on Decmeber 29th, 2009 in Basterre, St.Kitts.
The New Treaty is said to create internal financial harmony between dependencies and states of the Eastern Caribbean . In addition, the strong relationship between all member states assigns responsibility in the event of natural disasters. The OECS is the successor of the Leewards Islands' political organisation known as the West Indies Associated States (WISA) and its Secretariat (organ of the organisation) is in St. Lucia. Associate members (Anguilla & the British Virgin Islands) are not represented by the organisation. To date, Venezuela has only applied for membership as of 2008, but hasn't been accepted yet.
In the youtube video (on the right) the OECS has put together a couple of cartoon episodes of what they hope to accomplish: harmony between the eastern caribbean islands, where bands from all islands can perform together, people from different countries can establish friendships, and economic dependency on different neighboring countries can be established.
The provisions of the Economic Union Treaty are expected to include:
The signing took place at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium at the Headquarters of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB).
EMTs let a Pregnant woman die because they were on break!

Bronx, NY. - Eutisha Revee Rennix died after she suffered a seizure at Au Bon Pain [coffee] shop, her place of employment. The 30-year-old was pregnant and witnesses claim that two EMTs (Jason Green an Melissa Jackson) were on site but walked away refusing to assist the expectant mother. Instead, they suggested that the onlookers "call 911" and left the scene. Eutisha died at Long Island College Hospital. Doctors tried to deliver her premature baby, but the 6-month-old "premie" died two hours after. Eutisha leaves to mourn a 3-year-old son, friends, and family. The mom and premature baby were buried last Friday at Canarsie Cemetery. The two EMTs are currently on suspension.Their defense is that they haven't had contact with a patient in years, which makes them somewhat inexperienced...whatever! They need to get fired one time.
Going Postal: A Man fires shots at his job because he was denied unemployment benefits
Baton Rouse, Louisiana. - A former employee of a construction company has been taken into custody and charged with two count of murder and one count of manslaughter. The suspect, a former employee who was reently let off, recently applied for unemployment benefits. After he found out that his claim was denied, he marched into the office and began shooting, instantly killing two people and injuring one. Afterwards, he stormed back outside where he was rushed to the floor by a guard on duty. As police escorted the suspect into the police car, the suspect kept repeating to reporters, "“I couldn’t get my unemployment, they wouldn’t give me my unemployment.”

I can't say that I don't understand where he is coming from, but to actually shoot innocent people and then just walk out like you're invincible --- Negative! I am sure this won't be the last violent incident in response to the recession. It would be best for them to accept everyone's claim (as unrealistic as it is). Denying claims nowadays, during this recession, is quite dangerous as we can see. As soon as I spotted dude, I would have ran through the back.
Crazy threats of '09: Michelle Obama, Ashanti & Derkowitz
Michelle My Belle
Kailua, Hawaii - A 35-year-old Caucasian woman (Kristy Lee Rioshia) has been arrested for reportedly being dumb enough to tell agents she would "blow away" the First Lady. She has been charged with assaulting a federal agent and making threats towards a family member of the President [his wife]. This same woman threatened President Bush back in 2004 wanting to assasinate him but not hurt him --- *blank stare*. This time she called the Hawaiian home where the Obama's vacation saying:
“I will kill Michelle Obama” and “I will kill marines."
How dumb can this woman be? I will never understand it.Oh yeah, and she just happened to be two miles from the same Hawaiian home when she was taken into custody. SMH at how much more tolerance the government has with certain ethnicities. If a black man threatened the President back in 2004, he would have already been serving a life sentence...getting his cakes smashed in. The truth is, every ethnicity/ nationality is capable of being psychotic...but let's just say white people take the cake and eat it too!
Stalkin' Shanti
New York, NY - An Indiana native was arrested for stalking the Princess of Hip Hop and her family. Devar Hurd is accused of sending 30 plus text messages containing indecent context. Reportedly the text messages involve the man getting off sexually on the singer, her mom Tina, and sister Kenashia [Shia]. Hurd, 31, sent pictures of his genitalia to the R& Bsinger'smom and informed her that he masturbated off of one of Ashanti's performances. Hurd knew details such as what car Ashanti drives and when she arrived and left rehearsals.
Police allege that he is involved in the music industry somehow, which will explain his knowledge of personal information on Ashanti. Currently, he is in Rikers on a $50,000 bond.
Prosecution has put a one-year sentence on the table in exchange for a guilty plea. This fool is definitely a wack loser. Is he that desperate for sex that he needs to stalk someone that hard. I mean, ok so you stalk Ashanti she is a celeb, it's not like that has never happened before...but her mom AND sis...hmmm, nope, definitely dumb. Then to leave a trace such as text messages...talk about incriminating oneself.

Alicia Keys: Home Wrecker???
With all the buzz that has been floating around about our beloved A.Keys, I had to find out whether or not there is a positive side to all of this. If you haven't been up-to-date on macoism, Alicia Keys has been dating producer Swizz Beatz for sometime, although they were trying tohide it at first. I say hiding because they outright denied it. Swizz's wife and baby mother, Mashonda claims the two dated while she was still happily married to Swizz. The couple say they were official after he was already separated. Does it really matter? Separated = Marriage.
Yet, is it completely wrong for A.Keys to be happy? She wasn't the married one? She was just doing what made her feel good? Was she supposed to leave him alone?

I guess it hit people hard because our squeaky Alicia was proven to be human after all...she fell for temptation, but kept going back to it. Eh, on one hand it's a sad situation, but on the other, she had no moral obligation to the wife...
T.I. placed in a halfway house
The Atlanta native has been released from prison and placed in a halfway house. A halfway house, is also known as a "recovery house" normally designed for people who have an addiction problem. However, there are halfway houses that are specificaly deisgned to assist those recently released from prison with reintegration into society. This is definitely a step up for T.I. and it shows that if he is on his best behavior he can definitely finish out the rest of his sentence early (as expected). Tameka [Tiny] Cottle must be somewhere grinning because she can finally hear those wedding bells.

I wish the government would leave hip hop artists alone and arrest those who lynch people while wearing white hoodies over their faces. And yes, they are still out there! Come on Hip Hop World, get it together...do it the legal way and register your firearms. The fourth amendment is still active.
